The Adjustable Bed and Memory Foam

Memory foam is a relatively new introduction to the bedding industry. It is a type of mattress that contours to the sleep position and comfort level of the user. Memory foam has become one of the more popular additions to adjustable beds. The memory foam mattresses do not have coils that would be harmed by the bending and adjusting of an adjustable bed. The memory foam allows for the changes that are the highlight of an adjustable bed.
The most interesting part of the memory foam is what it does. The term "memory foam" is a little misleading. The mattress does not actually remember anything about the user. What it does remember is exactly how far to let the user "sink in" so that every point on the contour of the body is supported. The idea is that traditional mattress coils are either rigid or weak in the wrong places. So the foam was created to allow the user's body to control the support it receives from the bed. The foam will bounce back to its original, flat shape when the sleeping is done. Also, the foam becomes softer in warmer areas where the body makes the most contact with the surface and remains firmer in cooler areas where less body contact is made. If a user lies down on their back, the heaviest parts of the body, which are typically the hips, sink in further than the lighter parts, like the feet. As the hips sink in, the material rises to meet the upper thighs and lower back eventually filling any gaps along the contour of the back of the body. As the material molds to the shape, the body becomes supported in the correct anatomical position with the neck and spine in perfect alignment. However, this shape is not really remembered. The foam only remembers to allow the body to do the controlling.
An adjustable bed is perfectly created to team with a memory foam mattress to be able to attain that greatest comfort that people would like to feel in their bed.
